Hyeckian's are obliged to obey the Basic Law and Principles as it is the fundamental document which sets us apart from the rest.
Compliance with UK and Scottish Law
Hyeck, despite having de facto sovereignty and a functioning government, we are forced to comply with both UK and Scottish law.
Section 1
The judicial power of the Republic is the responsibility of the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court, as the highest judicial body of the Republic, shall assume supreme judicial responsibility over the laws of the Republic.
Section 2
The Supreme Court shall be composed of a Head Judge and an Associate Judge both appointed by the Secretary General and assuming tenure of six (6) year.
1) There is no limit of terms to which a judge can assume.
Section 3
No person shall become a member of the judiciary unless they are a registered citizen, are able to read and write, are non-partisan, are able to communicate with the use of the English language, are at least fourteen (14) years old and have experience in law-related sectors in their micronation or macronation, or an incumbent Chancellor or Deputy Chancellor.
Section 4
If there is a vacancy on the Supreme Court, the incumbent Secretary General shall appoint the replacement with the advice of the incumbent Chancellor.
Section 5
The Supreme Court assumes the following powers:
(1) Review and examine laws/bills and their legality;
(2) Deliberation of cases and other infringements;
(3) Issue resolutions over legal matters of the Republic; and
(4) Any other power vested upon the Supreme Court by law.
